IB Acronyms
IB = International Baccalaureate Program. This is the program/curriculum used at Roland Park. Find out more about IB here!
IB Learner Profile = The 10 qualities the IB program seeks to foster in its students: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced, and Reflective. Learn more about the IB Learner Profile qualities here!
IMSOM = Internationally Minded Student of the Month. Each month, each PYP classroom and MYP homeroom votes for the one student in their class who best exemplifies that month’s IB characteristic (see IB Learner Profile above for more info). IMSOM awardees receive a certificate, appear on the morning show, and receive donuts that morning.
MYP = Middle Years Programme. This is the name for the IB curriculum Adum K-8 uses in the middle school grades (6th – 8th grades).
PYP = Primary Years Programme. This is the name for the IB curriculum Adum K-8 uses in the elementary school grades (Kindergarten – 5th grade).
