Summer & School BREAK Camp Information

There are many school breaks, non-school days, and summer camp options in Hillsborough County. A few options enjoyed by Adum K-8 families include:

HOST (Fee-based)

The school district runs the HOST program at Adum K-8, providing care before and after school, on non-school days, and throughout the summer. HOST is a fee-based program.

Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine has a great directory of privately run summer camps.

Here are a few recommended by our community:

 

Berkeley Prep – For students in PreK-12th grade, full-day sessions in a variety of areas, including sports, academics, fine arts, and enrichment, or you can opt for one-, two-, and three-hour à la carte selections. This is one of the pricier options, but highly reviewed.

 

Camp Bayshore (at Bayshore Christian School) – Full-day camps for ages 3-11, includes structured and free play, lots of great off-campus field trips included in the cost, shows, music, art, science projects, service projects, and more.

 

Camp IDS at Corbett Prep – Half- or full-day camps during six weeks of sessions, including sports, academics, arts, recreation and STEAM specialties. Open to PreK – 8th grade students.

 

Camp J at Bryan Glazer Family JCC – One- and two-week specialty camps for ages 4-17, including theater, hockey, Legos, leadership skills, and more. 

 

First Tee Tampa Bay – Full-day golf camp for ages 6-17, open to all skill levels including beginners; golf clubs are provided.

 

Florida Aquarium – Full-day camps for ages 3-14 at the aquarium, with different themes each week.

 

Glazer Children’s Museum – Full-day camps for ages 5-10, includes different weekly themes, structured learning experiences, and free play time in the museum.

 

Gracie South Tampa – A fun, educational martial arts camp for kids of all ages.

 

LaFleur’s Tampa Gymnastics – Camps for ages 5-12 with gymnastics and swimming lessons.

 

MOSI Science Center – Science explorations for ages 4 through 12th grade. 

 

Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center – Half-day (AM & PM) music, theater, and dance camps for ages 4-18.

 

Playgrounds of Tampa – Half- or full-day camps for ages 4-10 with indoor bounce houses and other enrichment activities. They also have the option to sign up for a single day if needed.

 

Summer on Bayshore (at Academy of Holy Names) – Half- and full-day camps for ages 3 and up; specialty camps on various topics (STEM, sports, art, etc.) and a traditional “Camp Jaguar.”

 

The Prep of South Tampa – Half- and full-day camps for ages 4-17 with a variety of specialties, including art, soccer, baseball, photography, cooking, robotics, and more.
